Good Evening!

Here are this weeks announcements for the KHS Band. August 14th - 19th is a super busy week!!!

Band Celebrations

• Congratulations to Senior, Thomas Longoria, and Alumnus, Christian Martinez on their recent season with the Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps. Their group finished in 12th in the Finals of the Drum Corps International World Championships.

Reminders

• Our Popcorn Fundraiser is currently running. Please make sure to sell as much as possible to help us reach our fundraising goal!

• Our first band fee payment of $50 was due on August 1st! Students need to make sure to communicate payment plans to directors.

• Students will need to make sure to have Long Black Socks for our Community Performance. Socks need to come up to the calf, ankle socks will not be allowed.

• Students just took Band Photos! Please reach out to Stidham and Associates Elite Photography for pricing on your students photos. www.stidhamphotography.com

• August 18th we will have a Donation Drive from 5:30PM - 6:30PM in front of the Stadium

Monday August 14th

• White Day (1, 3, 5, 7, 8)

• Full Marching Band Rehearsal from 4:00PM - 6:00PM

• Parent Pickup Location: In Front of PAC

• Parents MUST park in a parking spot for Student Safety. You will not be able to pull up next to the school and have your student hop in. Thank you for your help in keeping our students safe.

Tuesday August 15th

• Blue Day (2, 4, 5, 6, 8)

• Full Marching Band Rehearsal from 4:00PM - 6:00PM

• Parent Pickup Location: In Front of PAC

• Parents MUST park in a parking spot for Student Safety. You will not be able to pull up next to the school and have your student hop in. Thank you for your help in keeping our students safe.

Wednesday August 16th

• White Day (1, 3, 5, 7, 8)

• No Rehearsal!

Thursday August 17th

• Blue Day (2, 4, 5, 6, 8)

• Full Marching Band Rehearsal from 3:30PM - 6:30PM

Friday August 18th

• White Day (1, 3, 5, 7, 8)

• Community Performance!!!!

• 3:30PM - 5:30PM Stadium Rehearsal

• 5:30PM - 6:30PM DONATION DRIVE

• 6:00PM: STADIUM GATES OPEN

• 6:30PM - Community Performance

• Please allow students time to return their equipment to the band hall after the performance.

Saturday August 19th

• Drill Camp

• 12:00PM - 7:00PM

This is the first of our Weekly News Series. In these posts, students and families will be able to look ahead and see what is coming up this week. Please check the website often for more information and updates.

• FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

• Students WILL have Full Marching Band Rehearsal on the 1st Day of School from 3:30PM - 6:30PM

• Freshmen will ride the shuttle from the 9th Grade Center to the HS after school.

• Parent Pickup Location: In Front of PAC

• Parents MUST park in a parking spot for Student Safety. You will not be able to pull up next to the school and have your student hop in. Thank you for your help in keeping our students safe.

Thursday August 10th

Community Performance/Presentación de la Comunidad

On Friday August 18th, the Mighty Panther Band will be performing their show "The Dark Canvas" for the Sheldon Community! Our students have been working hard these last few weeks of band camp. For our parents who are wondering what their student has been doing all the day, this is your chance to see your kid in action!

The presentation will take place in Panther Stadium at 6:30PM. Entry to the event is free and parking is free as well. Below is a map of our campus and directions on where to park. Please come support the KHS Band Program and all the hard work our students have put in!

¡El Viernes Agosto 18, la Mighty Panther Band presentará su espectáculo "The Dark Canvas" para la comunidad de Sheldon! Nuestros estudiantes han estado trabajando duro estas últimas semanas de campamento de banda. Para nuestros padres que se preguntan qué ha estado haciendo su hijo todo el día, ¡esta es su oportunidad de ver a su hijo en acción!

La presentación tendrá lugar en el Panther Stadium a las 6:30 p.m. La entrada al evento es gratuita y el estacionamiento también es gratuito. A continuación se muestra un mapa de nuestro campus e instrucciones sobre dónde estacionar. ¡Venga a apoyar el programa de banda de KHS y todo el arduo trabajo que nuestros estudiantes han realizado!
