KHS Wind Studies
Wind Ensemble - Varsity Band
The Wind Ensemble is the advanced (varsity) band in the C.E. King High School Band Program. Students will prepare/perform a professional level music curriculum and have a strong commitment to rehearsal and individual practice time. Wind Ensemble students students will prepare and perform music for concerts and competitions.
The Wind Ensemble meets during 8th Period.
Membership in the Wind Ensemble carries the following responsibilities:
1. Attendance at all rehearsal, sectionals, clinics and performances.
2. Preparation of All-State/All-Region Band music during Fall Semester.
3. Participate in Sheldon District Band Auditions on November 10th, 2026
4. Participate in UIL Region 33 - Freshmen Region Band Auditions on November 17th, 2026
5. Participate in UIL Region 33 - Region Band Auditions on December 4th & December 5th, 2026
6. Participate in UIL Area F - Area Band Auditions on January 9th, 2027
7. Participate in Sheldon ISD Solo and Ensemble Contest on February 5th, 2027
8. Maintain academic eligibility.
9. Abide by all C.E. King Band Handbook Policies.
Wind Symphony - Non-Varsity Band
The Wind Symphony (Second Band) is open to all C.E. King High School Band students. Students will prepare/perform an advanced music curriculum and have a strong commitment to rehearsal and individual practice time. Students will prepare and perform music for concerts and competitions.
The Wind Symphony meets during 5th Period.
Membership in the Wind Symphony carries the following responsibilities:
1. Attendance at all rehearsal, sectionals, clinics and performances.
2. Preparation of All-State/All-Region Band music during Fall Semester.
3. Participate in Sheldon District Band Auditions on November 10th, 2026
4. Participate in UIL Region 33 - Freshmen Region Band Auditions on November 17th, 2026
5. Participate in UIL Region 33 - Region Band Auditions on December 4th & December 5th, 2026
6. Participate in UIL Area F - Area Band Auditions on January 9th, 2027
7. Participate in Sheldon ISD Solo and Ensemble Contest on February 5th, 2027
8. Maintain academic eligibility.

Symphonic Winds - Sub Non-Varsity A Band
Symphonic Winds (Third Band) is open to all C.E. King Band students. Students will prepare/perform an intermediate music curriculum and have a strong commitment to rehearsal and individual practice time. Symphonic Winds students will prepare and perform music for concerts and competitions. Students in Symphonic Winds must constantly work to maintain their eligibility in the ensemble.
Symphonic Winds meets during 5th Period.
Membership in the Symphonic Winds carries the following responsibilities:

2. Preparation of All-State/All-Region Band music during Fall Semester.

Concert Winds- Sub Non-Varsity B Band
Concert Winds (Fourth Band) is open to all C.E. King Band students. Students will prepare/perform an intermediate music curriculum and have a strong commitment to rehearsal and individual practice time. Concert Winds students will prepare and perform music for concerts and competitions. Students in Concert Winds must constantly work to maintain their eligibility in the ensemble.
The Concert Winds meets during 1st Period.
Membership in the Concert Winds carries the following responsibilities:
1. Attendance at all rehearsal, sectionals, clinics and performances.
2. Preparation of All-State/All-Region Band music during Fall Semester.
3. Participate in Sheldon District Band Auditions on November 10th, 2026
