Weekly Recap

The Sheldon ISD Band Program had a great Fall Break! Our students got to perform at our Pink Out Game against Humble HS this past Friday. This past Saturday the band performed at Planet Ford Stadium in the UIL Region 33 Marching Contest.

Each judge is allowed to give only one score.

1) Superior

2) Excellent

3) Average

4) Below Average

5) Poor

The band received Division 1 Ratings (Superior) from ALL three judges and qualified for the UIL Area Contest this upcoming Saturday, October 25th. Congrats to everyone on a great performance!!!

Reminder that Mock Region Auditions will help determine which band class students will be in for the Spring 2026 Semester. Students will be judged on their ability to play through the Freshmen Cuts of the 3 Region Etudes. Please know that students will be given a participation grade for this audition. Students will be evaluated by different band directors from around the Houston Area and with their recommendations given to the KHS Directors.

Weekly Recap

Another busy week done! Sheldon ISD in partnership with Humble ISD and Galena Park ISD hosted a Fine Arts Collge Fair this past Monday for our KHS Students. The KHS Band Program would like to thank all the students who participated in the Greater Houston Collegiate Showcase this past Wednesday. They had the opporunity to perform in front of college recruiters for colleges all across the satte. Thank you again for representing KHS well.

This past Friday our band got to perform on the news for Fox Football Fever. This was on Fox 26 Houston with Nate Giffin. Congrats to our students for representing their school and the band program well! Click the link here to watch their performance.

The KHS Marching Band had two great performances of their show, "Fanta-Sea." They performed Friday in Stallworth Stadium at an Away Game against Goose Creek Memorial HS, and on Saturday at the US Bands Baytown Regional in Stallworth Stadium. We would like to congratulate our students on their performances. We would like to shout-out Jerry the Jellyfihs and our Jellyfish Crew for the work they did this week. You truly help bring the show alive. For their first time attending this Regional, the KHS Band earned 16th Place Overall out of 30 bands.

Weekly Recap

The Sheldon ISD Band Program had a fantastic week! Our MS Band Programs were able to visit the HS for our Homecoming Game and participate with us in the stands. Our HS Marching Band performed in the KHS Homecoming Parade and in the KHS Pep Rally. Our HS Drumline, Low Brass Quartet, and Saxophone Ensmble represented the band at the Sheldon ISD State of the District Luncheon.

The KHS Marching Band had three amazing performances of their show, "Fanta-Sea." They performed Friday in at our Homecoming Game in Panther Stadium, and twice on Saturday at the US Bands Houston Regional in Challenger Stadium. We would like to congratulate our students on making US Bands Finals for the FIRST TIME in school history. They earned 8th Place Overall. Congrats once again to our marching band students on your historic performance this weekend.

Thank you to the teachers, students, and family members that made this week possible.
